Pain, depression, fatigue and stress can all lead to sleeping disorders. The trick is to not fall into bad sleeping habits and get a good 7–9 hours per night of good sleep. Sleep is important to your physical and also emotional health. Sleep may help you stay healthy by keeping your immune system strong and repairing broken down cells throughout the night. Getting enough sleep can help your mood and make you feel less stressed and more productive when you are awake. If you are looking for simple quick fixes toget a better night sleep there are things you can do today to help your sleep tonight.

First First examine your sleeping area.

  • Do you have a quality mattress?
  • Is your sleep area quiet and dark?
  • Do you create a hard sleeping area with a TV or radio on.

Too much noise, light or activity going on, in, or around your sleep area is going to make it more difficult for you to get to sleep and stay asleep at night.

Next get a good evening and bedtime routine.
Create for yourself a noise free, quiet and comfortable sleeping area. Move the TV and radio out of the bedroom. Keep your bedroom quiet, dark, and cool. Use curtains or blinds to block out the light.
•Do you go to bed at the same time every night?
•Do you wake up at the same time each morning?
•Are you exercising before bed?
Creating a sleeping schedule and getting into a healthy sleeping routine is one of the most important things you can do to get you back to healthy sleep. Set a bedtime for yourself. Also wake up at the same time every day. This will help you get into a routine and your body will start to adapt to your new routine. Exercising is great for your health but not within 3-4 hours before your go to sleep.
